maybe is just for fun. Right? right?!
While I still think that I have to give this site the final details I see that a lot of madness is happening with what an AI can do.
So far I’m not getting chills because of it for a simple reason: Right now is still green to be an industry standart therefore I can’t say that it can draw or write like Dali and Hemingway because it can’t.
I’m not sure about the implications of such a bad idea if we take a small look at a lot of github projects working with them and making it pretty much a walk thru a park for certain people but is clearly not ready for production usage on a daily basis and common users.
It still requires a really long installation process and even though it works more than well -Specially drawing AI- I don’t see an everyday PC user going that way.
Seems to be that GNU projects are making it bigger. I see a lot of artists worries about it. Fair enough it can cause a terrible mess if we talk about a non paid production ready AI and furthermore, very easy to use.
Long way to go to achieve that. But, and there’s always a but, eventually it will be possible to do a draw, write with a certain style and use less resources or at least updated tech to leverage just the way it happened with 3D design soft.
I’m an artist so I don’t use AI for images or photography but I see that a lot of people does. It can turn into a huge moral and human disaster if we don’t cover the jobs that AI will take.
I see that is already a work in progress in game development. To be precise with textures for the 3D models.
Again, I’d not trust on that yet. On my side NEVER.
I’m not reluctant to change but this time change can carry job losses and a lot of economic chaos.
The first ones with GPT technology are already gaining ground over humans and that is not reasonable.
Maybe I should re-read I robot because even scifi have it’s point with Asimov’s robotics law. Applies here and with every/any machinery.
I still feel confused with some exponents talking on that “everything will be perfectly fine” tone. Because it’s not that easy.
If we don’t cover the jobs taken by AI we will be living the dream baby!!! oh sorry.. it was the nightmare.

A huge piece of pie from the private sector are the foundation stones for the GNU projects that improve AI models day by day.
The best example, is invoke AI. It’s free, open, and it only requires an Nvidia card. Go ahead and… Draw? Well no. actually that is not drawing but at a certain point it’s the same that plastic pencils and a wacom. I learned art the old fashioned way: With physical tools. That makes me feel that the world with people fighting because “this is not human” is beyond wrong.
I could have been that cynical or start a witch-hunt. Is nearly: “AI may fantasy wild hunt”
The point: Welcome. Makes no difference for a person who is not immerse on the industry -for example- a concept artist. I believe the damage already started there. Ups. Ouch…
Anyway, not skynet yet, you are not forced to use it -I will not do it...- and is an unlike cause of world end.
In short: The Salem style mood of people is the thing that makes me feel that this will carry a very long moral tail.
Let us hope that -at least- plastic pencils can keep it’s place.
On my side: I won’t point anyone. After all, I can point a lot I use a PC since an IBM 80286… meaning: everything is sorcery if you’ll look at it like a weird monster instead of being analytic.
BTW: Invoke AI is now capable of swapping faces or use them as the base of a “composition” that may sound trouble but I believe that we have another exponents like the ones who allow -long before chat GPT- to swap faces on a video, de-age people. all in all, that is the real mess.
For the time being, I still want to be the one using the non-camera camera or the non pencil pencil...
