Social media evolved in a particular way. A like became that valuable asset that nobody is willing to give without certain statu quo.
There’s no follow back anymore. Seems to be that the age when a professional became a “creator” have certain things that manage to get me unsettled with how the internet is going backwards. Yeas. Backward.

We dumped all that old ugly looking forums and now we have something better. Right? Nope. Not really. And numbers are as clear as people opinion on the subject. Massive migrations from network to network without that consensus that a forum used to have about it’s community members.
Right now you have the ugly part of the internet hidden at plain sight.

Just like only fans and all the porn around that -by the numbers- almost 80% of people on the web consumes day by day we are loosing that morality that the real world always had and we are replacing it with instagram moral day by day.
It’s a common thing to see a kid with lingerie dancing in front of the camera and that is far beyond ugly. Is a real mess concerning what we became as a society.

While I still drop my inksplats on this magazine there’s people convinced of the extremely valuable amount of followers on the digital world.

Interesting: People can’t even remember who follows them and vice-versa. That is the reason why certain material that belong to the dark net is here to stay. I’m not judge of morality here. Just the guy who thinks that sometimes parents are a mythological magic creature that smile while a barely dressed girl dance in front of the camera dressed on weird game cosplay stuff.

Basically it looks like Amsterdam red light area but at plain sight and nobody even notice or care about it.

We have some people digging and their findings are far beyond driven. -like the guy who sells used coffins on Facebook- beyond that everything seems to be normal. Suuure.. is like photolog but 20% extra porn.

I imagine that we can do better than that and developers are not lost enough to think that Facebook is more than a message board on steroids but I’m not sure about it anymore. I made this site on spare time and I like it. It rocks. Sure. Why not to have some registered users? You can even have a forum and.. wait no. that will made yet another social media site because people seems to use a TON and that is something that claims my attention and curiosity: How can people recall all what they see in 6 different infinite scrolls. Now, don’t get me wrong but I stay on the limits of physical reality even with a digital “transformed” world.

The first time I heard about “digital transformation” was during the COVID-19 outbrake. Sure. Long ago. Nope. Not that long ago. But we surely changed a lot since then. Economy doesn’t seems to work on the in app purchase world. At least not the way people like John Nash imagined.
The strong belief on the benefits is there because WE, the marketers should do the homework and stop wasting our clients money on non efficient massive deployments on social media of all kind.

Is like medicine. At the beginning, it was just a doctor. Now we have a doctor for every organ and we are extrapolating that weird reality to every discipline. After all there’s no issue at all. At least at payment time, but come on: talking as a client I don’t feel super happy to visit 8 medics for a scratch on my knee.

Marketing is on the same way. Ineffective practices that seems to aim to a simple. Very simple idea: Brute force to sell. Content and inbound marketing became a constant annoyance for my person. I get done of ads everywhere. That is why you don’t see an add here. First, this site is not a CMS and I still polishing the final details. But sell an ad space looks better to me than generate a lot of content and try to get about 3k visitors per day to earn a penny, a dime, a few bucks for the small black box.

Even when we have quality to sell we only sell products that won’t ever meet that criteria. Most of it Chinese stuff that is way below the quality that we used to have in America -All of it- when we had industry. I don’t complain about a competitive option but certain things are way out of scope just because we fell into a non industrial society that acts like a retailer.

Obviously, marketing adapted to it. Better said: It didn’t. That wasn’t good for any of us or for the planet now with more tech waste than ever and pollution from arsenic and lithium from phones and every single appliance that uses an LCD screen.
The guy who purchased the former twitter and own tons of -probably- altered information. nothing to worry. He is just mentally screwed. Let’s face it. We have a guy who is -allegedly- a mental patient running a social site that runs news and information of all kind. If hypocrisy could pay people like that would be even more rich. Probably owners of a count.. oh wait, they own the information,. The marketers, designers.. they are the employers of the decade -literally-

Now we manage our info through a fast growing marketing mine field and half truth that we get from all the media around us. The traditional media is almost abandoned in matter of budget for a decent campaign even when is more than suitable for an old world with little to very little young population.

Oh my-- a cab driver on his 70’s talks me about reptilians on the way while I pretend to listen. I guess that marketer ears on this age means no ears at all. Obviously, unless you can have certainty you can’t just listen to the people who listen to your fellow comrades of work or the TV news. That will be worse than an Orwellian nightmare.

Maybe worse than Phillip K. Dick with a terrible spastic colon…
