Shit happens
Well, I think the image that illustrates this posts says enough about being blocked. Either an artist of any kind, or a professional on a field as marketing can be blocked.. DAMN... ANYONE, ANYWHERE can be blocked, because our thoughts, ideas, feelings are in matter of fact what we do and the way backwards. (crazy uh?) Even a cook will feel a block if he can find a new flavour that he is looking for.
What to do? And what does produce such blocks, the sensation of being in front of a huge brick wall or with a complete white space. zero. nada?
Most of the times, when I feel that way (and I must say it my friend: now I'm feeling kinda like that) the best way that I usually find to get away from my barricade, is to change what I'm doing. In this case, here I am. writing a post for anyone who wants to read it. and it helps.
How? simple: If you fix your mind on the problem ratter than let go the issue thinking on another thing, well... you are screwed. Is a matter of "think different" (No, dude, you don't need to buy a Mac...) just change what you are doing, search for a pleasant idea, and do whathever keeps you busy and calm.
For instance: A few weeks ago, I started geminating a few lemon seeds that I had around. They came from good organic fruit so, why not? And then, I just followed my pseudo routine. From design to development, to art, to marketing.. and then, from a minute to another. The huge, beautiful wall.
I'm on the way to bake a project for a very short experimental movie (nothing fancy, an inspiration that I wanted to share) but I felt blocked after 8 hours rendering an ocean simulation on blender. Can you blame yourself for that? nope..So, in this particular case, I had to pleasant surprises:
My lemon seeds are happily growing. very small but they look very healthy.
My wife and I... RAN OUT OF MARMALADE!! Oh my.. and what do I put on my hotcakes? So, while I write this, I decided to prepare a good organic pumpkin mamalade, and on the way, my mind started to feel distressed again.
Bottomline: Cut the wire, do something pleasant, have a good sleep, drink a lot of water, eat something nice and healthy, and in no time you will be back on track. Works for me every time. So, if you are still reading this in spite of the fact that you may or may not feel blocked, I hope you find a relaxing read here.
